About Small Space Therapist

“Small Space” is a reference to the size of my office, and a reminder that small can be powerful. It is an invitation to begin the therapeutic journey with one “small” step. Small Space Therapist was built to offer hope, that regardless of the grandeur of the room from which we operate, great changes can and will happen. The way we do this is through authentic and compassionate care.

Authentic and compassionate care means actively listening to your story, grieving together, celebrating together, and creatively working together throughout the therapeutic relationship. From your first session, our goal is for you to feel seen and heard as we take the time you need. If you are looking for a therapeutic space that feels personal and warm, we invite you to schedule a consultation to further explore working together.

Let's Connect!

Meet Betsy Leinbach

Betsy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She graduated from the University of North Carolina Charlotte in 2019 with a master’s degree in social work and from Goshen College (IN) in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts.

Betsy uses an individualized approach to working with clients, using Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and somatic practices. Through years of experience working with adults, children, and adolescents in various therapeutic settings, she has seen the remarkable value of a relationship-focused approach.

Betsy is passionate about helping others see their value, potential, and recognize their “enough-ness.” She has been fortunate to have the opportunity to develop skills while providing supportive services to diverse populations, including transitioning refugee families in Washington DC, creating and running a mother-to-mother support group, behavior modification groups with elementary school students in Western NC, and individual therapy in multiple clinical settings. She believes in the power of connection, meeting each client with warmth and compassion; Creating a safe and calm place to wade through life’s challenges together.

In her free time Betsy enjoys gardening, belly laughs, hiking, spending time with her friends and family, including three teenagers, and finding beauty in the small things.
